An Update From the Land: Five Years In!

Dear Friends! It’s been a while since I’ve shared an update from the land. We’re coming up this summer on the five year anniversary of the fire and this trip back to California has been one of wonder and awe. I’m completely taken by how amazing the land looks now. I still miss the forest that we lost, but this combination of flowers, meadows, and trees has me speechless. Every day I discover a new plant, every day I look out my window and take in the extraordinary beauty.

It is simply humbling to walk with the land and watch as it not only recovers, but becomes something completely new.

Walt has put in a bunch of new infrastructure like porches, trails, stairways, and a garage, but I’ll put those in a separate gallery. Today, enjoy the nature and give thanks that life will always have the final say.
